Overview
Bill Hughes and Bernadine Carraher set up Mind the Gap Films in 2001.
The company specialises in Television entertainment, music, documentaries and other factual programming. Our diverse television production slate includes two series of It’s My Show, the TV presenting talent show for kids, a moving documentary entitled Messenger Boy – Christie Hennessy which was filmed during the last months of the late singer-songwriter’s life, as well as fourteen series and counting of Hands On, the programme for Ireland’s Deaf community.
In 2005 our film Happy Birthday Oscar Wilde was nominated for a Golden Rose at Lucerne. It was filmed in association with Art for Amnesty for RTE, PBS, BBC and SBS.
In 2009, Mind the Gap Films produced our first radio drama, Grace, for RTE Radio 1. The musical, based around the hauntingly romantic O’Meara Brothers song of the same name, tells the story of the marraige of Grace Gifford and Joseph Plunkett the night before he was executed for his part in the 1916 Rising.
