What’s Love Got to Do With It?

Nuala Macklin

Newly elected AIRPI committee member Nuala Macklin recently had a documentary broadcast in the “Documentary on One” slot on RTE Radio One.

What’s Love Got to Do With It? dealt with the issue of domestic violence and heard from two women-survivors of domestic violence in rural Ireland who told their compelling and often harrowing stories. The programme also heard the other side of story – one man who is currently coming to terms with his violent past spoke openly and candidly about the effects of his domestic violence.

You might also remember that The Kitchen Sisters were looking for an Irish producer to work on their “The Secret Life of Girls” series for NPR last year: Nuala Macklin was the producer who subsequently recorded some footage about young Irish traveller women for this series and you can listen back to it now by clicking on this link:
